Question: why do some animals give birth to more than one animal and others only give birth to one

It depends on the habitat and sort of lifestyle the animal has. Animals can either try to have few babies, but put in a lot of effort into caring for them, so their chances or survival are very high, or they can put all their effort into having many babies and not bothering to care for them. Animals have limited resources so they cannot have lot of babies and care for them all!
