  Depends how you define ‘smart’ I guess! How would you define it?
  
  Some animals have amazing memories for particular things – like squirrels and some birds can bury hundreds or even thousands of pieces of food for winter and remember months later where they put it. I bet you couldn’t do that!

  Humans are the smartest animal we know about, though it depends what you are measuring as “smart” — other animals can move more quickly or remember more things or see more differences. It’s also possible that whales & dolphins might be very smart & we just don’t know how they are communicating. But in general, people are very, very smart because we share information with each other (like this!) & so we have the benefit of billions of poeople’s brains, not just one. Most animals aren’t so lucky.
