• Question: what is the differences between magma and lava (if they are the same why do they have different names)?

      As far as I know they’re the same, though a geologist may be able to correct me! Molten rock is called magma when it’s under the earth’s crust, and lava when it erupts out of a volcano, so it’s the same thing in different places.
