      There are many things I enjoy about my work (one of them is that there are many things to enjoy!) but I feel particularly happy when I’m doing fieldwork. It’s usually when I work the hardest but I am completely focused on the animals, in their own habitat, and it feels like life slows down and nothing else matters.

      I like answering easy questions 🙂 No, seriously, I like figuring out interesting things and thinking new thoughts & talking to smart people and helping solve interesting problems. Science is like a giant puzzle, you know what it feels like when you figure out something you hadn’t been able to? There are boring parts of science (& all jobs I think) but what makes it more than just doing suduko is that some of the solutions are really beautiful, like nature is beautiful, and sometimes you discover something that can really help people, or explain things people really want to know.
