Aha! You got me there! I’ll be nobel prize the day I can answer that question! Still I can’t count the times I tried to solve it logically in my head – it just doesn’t work, you do end up in circles no matter what! Anyway, we know that birds evolved from dinosaurs and dinosaurs already laid eggs. Little by little, change after change, we eventually get to a chicken but we wouldn’t recognise it from the egg, we would have to see the chicken first to decide it’s a chicken, right? So from our perspective I would say that the chicken comes first, but this is me playing around and not really being scientific! I wonder if one day we’ll be able to reconstruct the evolution of animals in the planet step by step, it would be neat as it is still so hard to grasp it if you start thinking at all the details! So maybe one day you’ll be closer to answer this question that I am!
I personally think it was the egg. But i don’t think it was just one egg, i think it was 2 eggs. the reason i say this is because with the chicken and the egg there is only one of them, so how would the chicken and chick mate with another of it’s kind as there are only one of each. With two eggs though, the male and famale chicks can mate and have more eggs and on and on and on…
