I write computer programs that have some of the animal’s behaviour & some of their environment that they live in. It’s hard because you need to figure out what is important, and how best to program it. There’a problem called “the map of Germany” problem (for no good reason!) which is that if you make a map of EVERYTHING in Germany, it would be just as large as Germany & would be no help. So one of the hard parts of being a scientist is deciding what parts go into your theory (which a model is a kind of theory) & what to leave out.
