• Question: Does animals have the same type of back bone as humans?

      Vertebrates (fish, birds, reptiles, mammals) all have backbones. Human are mammals so we are also vertebrates. Our backbone has undergone quite a lot of adaptations for upright walking on two feet.

      There are also invertebrates (like insects) that don’t have backbones – they instead have a hard skeleton on the outside.
