• Question: Can salt lose its saltiness?

      Hiya,

      The stuff that makes water taste salty – as you may know already – is Sodium Cholride. So to lose its saltiness, we’d need to change the chemistry and break down the sodium chloride. Do you know what chemical you could add to salt (NaCl) to turn it into another chemical?

    I am not sure but I know that when you drink a can of soda (Dr. Pepper, Coke or Lemnade) you are actully drinking a solution of gas dissolved in flavoured water.

    I am doubtful of this happening in the near future because of the following reasons. The reason is that nobody has invented space flight yet where you can breathe freely without having any specialist equipment on. You could go up but you would die before you reach a planet where you can breathe freely. there is the option of Mars, but you would have to have a helmet on 24/7 and have tons of oxygen tanks ready. i think that it will be at least 250+ years before we can work on an another planet.
