      Bald eagles eat mainly fish and the largest prey they can usually carry is about half their own weight. Bald eagles can weight between 6.5 to 14 lbs (3 to 6.5 kg) so a big one could carry prey weighing about 7 lbs or 3kg, which is about the size of a cat or a small dog.
