• Question: What type of places would you reccommend helping out at if you want to be a vet? Why did you choose to study monkeys?

I think local wildlife trusts and charities are a great way to get involved in working with animals. I’ve volunteered for Devon Wildlife Trust and London Wildlife Trust, and places like the RSPCA and PDSA are also great to get an understanding of what it’s like to work in that kind of environment. Good luck with your career, being a vet is a great choice! If you need advice on which subjects to choose etc, the Royal Veterinary College website is really good 🙂

I chose monkeys because their intelligence fascinates me. The baboons I study live in a similar social and physical environment to ancestral humans, so we can learn a lot about how we evolved from their behaviour. The things I learn from them change my understanding of what it is to be human, so I find them amazing!
