Question: Are humans evolving at the moment?

Yes! All species are still evolving.

There are some really interesting theories about this at the moment, but your guess is as good as mine when it comes to what we will evolve next… Some people think that we will lose our little toes because we don’t use them!

The appendix is a good example of recent evolutionary change – we don’t use it any more which is why it can be easily removed, but rabbits rely on their appendix to survive, because it breaks down plant cells. So, the reason we can have our appendix removed is because we have evolved into not needing them by changing our diets!
